My 3080ti desktop isn't even pushing 800MHz when running Prodeus and that's everything maxed, 60FPS, 1080p because I'm on a 1080p monitor and my GPU utilisation is only 50% and I'm only using 25% of it's total power draw. I've noticed a very big trend in a lot of defense forcing of really pc versions especially when they use DLSS. Yes retro aesthetics does not mean retro requirements, and yes proton can caus ea loss in performance but it very often and PROVEN results in the same performance and sometimes better. Another thing to keep in mind you are going to have a slight performance hit regardless as the game needs to run through a proton compatibility layer since there is no native linux build And just because a game is retro in aesthetic it doesn't mean it's retro in hardware requirements. You need to keep in mind that the Steam Deck doesn't have the same amount of power delivery to the APU as a desktop/laptop would to a dedicated CPU and GPU as there are thermal limitations to consider along with battery life. If it isn't then cap the refresh rate to something like 40Hz(in turn capping to 40fps stable) which is a rather good compromise.
